All Halo Frag Grenades

Whether you need to grenade jump off the map or evaporate a group of flood spores, I got the grenade for you.

Major Features

Halo 4/5 Grenade

For my design of the Halo 4/5 rendition of the M9 grenade, I went with a modular design that slides together with some alignment features to make sure that all the parts face the correct direction. The pieces were separated by color so that you can print the pieces individually, sand, paint and assemble with ease.

Surface features such as the shrapnel wedges, the screws, bevels, etc. were all handcrafted based on photo reference and the overall shape was based on in-game geometry.

Halo 2/3 Grenade

For my design of the Halo 2/3 rendition of the M9 grenade, I went with a very simple design that requires minimal, if any supports.

I went with a conic oval alignment feature that ensures that both the head and body of the grenade can be printed with minimal or no supports (depending on your support angel) but still ensures that the head is aligned correctly with the body. I added some ridges and bevels but tried to not overdo it to retain that simple Halo 2/3 look.

Halo Reach/CE Grenade

For my rendition of the Halo Reach/CE grenade I went with another simple, body, head, button design. I added some of the details that appear in the texture such as the head screws, indents etc. I was going to attempt the Halo CE grenade aka a potato with a handle, but when I loaded up the Master Chief Collection I saw that Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary utilized the same grenades as Halo: Reach.

All the grenades listed above are all properly toleranced to ensure that all the pieces slide together easily but securely.

Builds

As i'm currently drowning in work and other unfinished props, I have not yet gotten around to printing my own version of this prop :/ but, for anyone who prints their own and wants to show off their work, feel free to contact me and we can include your masterful craftsmanship here

What Next?

If you are looking to create you own models like this one feel free to checkout all of my tutorials on 3D modeling and prop making techniques.

If you are looking to purchase the model so that you can print your own you can find it in the store.

Lastly, make sure to check back in every once in a while to see what I've been working on

Thank you for your time
