Bulbasaur Planter

Updated: Sep 20, 2020

As close to a Bulbasaur as you'll get without committing a crime against nature

This cute leafy boi is based on the very popular geometric pokemon that are often used by people starting their descent into 3D printing mania. I modified it to contain a cavity and a drainage hole so that you too can proudly sit at least one pokemon on your shelf.

Major Features

There's not much in the realm of major features with this print, there is a whole for your plant to go in, and there is another hole for your excess water to drain out of.

Builds

Like the geometric model it is based off of, this print is very simple and I used the paint/sanding method that I refined in the Scarlett and Pearl's Spear builds.

CAUTION

Just because this print features no complex curvature does not mean that this print is not a pain in the rear. In the areas around the legs and feet it is very hard to properly sand due to an inability to fit my hand in the nooks. Additionally the toes act as little spears that stab your hands and sandpaper if you are too aggressive, I would definitely recommend a sanding wedge for this prop.

What Next?

If you are looking to create you own models like this one feel free to checkout all of my tutorials on 3D modeling and prop making techniques.

If you are looking to purchase the model so that you can print your own you can find it in the store.

Lastly, make sure to check back in every once in a while to see what I've been working on

Thank you for your time
